Our standards
To maintain our high standards, all of our volunteers and staff are required to undergo a series of checks before they can support the service. These checks include DBS, character references and proof of insurance. Please contact our Director of Community Services on 01962 854 226 for more information about our policies and procedures.
Are there any charges?
At this time, there are currently no charges for being a scheme member of St John’s Hand in Hand. However other third party services and providers may charge for the use or attendance of certain activities, events, clubs or schemes. Information about such charges will be provided to scheme members. For volunteers, we can reimburse some of your costs. Please contact the Hand in Hand team for more information.
Is St John’s Hand in Hand a registered service?
Please note that the St John’s Hand in Hand scheme is not a registered Care Quality Commission (CQC) service, unlike the charity’s almshouses.
The social prescribing scheme is a form of community outreach and is in partnership with the Winchester GP surgeries (Friarsgate, St Clements and St Paul’s), and the NHS Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), among others.
Operating hours
Our service operating hours are between Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm.
