For those residents who may be housebound or feeling under the weather, we have a part-time Shopping Assistant who is always happy to help residents with their shopping.
Our residents find it reassuring that the care and support offered by our matrons is greater than that which would normally be associated with a warden service in sheltered housing. It must be emphasised though that this does not constitute regular and constant nursing. New residents must be in sufficiently good health when they enter the almshouses to be able to lead independent lives and contribute to our community.
Although we are able to assist with many of your care needs, there are some requirements we are unable to help with as Social Care and Nursing Care are supported by the local authority Adult Services. In this instance, the matron can support you or your family to request an assessment by Adult Services and community/surgery nursing services. Following this assessment, they will decide if you are eligible for care and support. We will support you and your family with information about how to contact other services in Winchester.
We are rated as ‘good’ by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission.
