Our Values
Here at St John’s, we are home to a community of older people, staff, volunteers and supporters, living and working together. There are many qualities which help make us a leading organisation in the world of care, housing and support. These can be summed up in our five key values.
Caring
Care is at the heart of all that we do, delivered every day discreetly and thoughtfully. Our staff are skilled and compassionate; they go the extra mile. We truly care for each of our residents; we listen and respond to their individual health and social needs and their emotional wellbeing, and tailor our services and support accordingly.
Empowering
Each of our residents should live their life as they wish to their full potential. We empower and support our residents to enjoy comfort and companionship, to live as independently as possible, and experience real choice in their lives. Whether their wish is for quiet time alone, or stimulation and activity, our holistic approach ensures we deliver this.
Valuing People
Each person living or working within the St John’s community is valued, and treated at all times with respect, dignity, kindness and consideration. We expect much from our staff; we treat them well and support them to develop and realise their full potential. The quiet voice of our volunteers is heard, and their tireless support is warmly appreciated.
Community Spirit
At St John’s our residents, staff and volunteers share a warm, friendly community in which people look out for each other, socialise and support one another. We value our strong ties with the local community, and enjoy living and working alongside our neighbours.
Integrity
We are proud to use our resources, experience and expertise for the benefit of those we serve, and to provide charitable support for residents with financial and other needs. We govern responsibly, seek to earn the trust of our stakeholders, and run the charity in a business-like fashion, with prudence and professionalism.
