Vintage Tea Party – 3rd June 2019

24th May 2019

St John’s Winchester are pleased to announce a Vintage Tea Party for our almshouse residents was held on Monday 3rd June in our Community Room on Colebrook Street. The party ran between 2pm – 4pm, and guests were asked to come in an outfit from their favourite vintage era.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous afternoon tea of miniature Victoria sponge cakes, freshly baked scones, tasty sandwiches, sausage rolls and other delights.

To accompany the sweet and savoury treats, coffee and a selection of teas were served. Staff, volunteers and residents dressed up in clothing from their favourite eras or in their best vintage-inspired garments. Her Majesty the Queen even made an appearance!

The event was topped off by a quiz, which spanned from the 20s all the way up to the Noughties.

Visit our photo gallery herefor more photos of the day.

A huge thank you to the staff, residents and volunteers who made the event so special. Special thanks to Tony for providing the fantastic catering, and Sheana for the brilliant photographs.
