St John’s are delighted to announce that the Almshouses and Moorside have both been nominated for awards in the Great British Care Awards 2018!
Moorside has been selected as a finalist in the South East region, recognising their efforts in dementia care. The award winner will be announced on 3rd November 2018.
We would like to congratulate the Almshouse and Moorside staff for their continuous hard work and dedication!
Deborah Macartney, Moorside Matron, expressed her joy at receiving the news: “I am delighted that the Moorside team have been recognised for their dedication and commitment to improving the lives of people living with dementia. We have introduced great sensory projects and the hard work has been worth every minute to see people more peaceful and settled, living a happier life.”
Sue Taylor, Matron of the Almshouses, commented on being nominated: “As the registered manager I am really proud of the welfare staff team to have been nominated for this award. The welfare team are a positive, cohesive and happy team who constantly go that extra mile to provide high quality care and support to our residents and each other. We will continue to provide the best care possible to all those we are privileged to care for and who are benefiting from living in our vibrant community.”
