We give priority to applications from local people and the surrounding areas over the age of 60 who are in social and financial need. Applications will normally only be accepted from people outside Hampshire where a particular need can be established or there is a proven family connection to the area. Read our admissions guidelines here.
Costs
Residents pay a weekly maintenance contribution towards their accommodation and a heating contribution. These are reviewed annually. The current charges from January 2020 are:
Maintenance Contribution: £130.00 per week
Heating Contribution: £19.00 per week
How to Apply
Because the charity provides subsidised accommodation for those of limited means, applicants are required to complete a financial assessment to evaluate their finances.
You can download the application form, or telephone or call into the office to collect one. Alternatively, we can post a copy out to you.
We will request references and the completion of a GP medical questionnaire. Applicants who meet the charity’s housing criteria will be invited to meet the Trustees’ Almshouse Panel for a chat about their application and the contributions you feel you can make to our community. Following that meeting, the charity will offer the successful applicant an almshouse, if one is available, which we feel best suits the applicant’s needs. Alternatively the applicant’s name will be added to our small list of eligible applicants pending a vacancy becoming available.
Please get in touch if you have any queries.
