Moorside carer, Liz (Elizabeth) Payne, has won recognition from training company FTNC for her outstanding achievement. Liz now features on the company’s ‘Wall of Fame’ due to her growth and outstanding achievement during her level 2 study.
St John’s Moorside Matron/Manager, Deborah Macartney offers her total support for Liz’s achievement. She said: “Liz has developed tremendously as a carer, demonstrating insight, understanding and maturity since her employment. We are very proud of her efforts and performance.”
Liz was a new member of the team at Moorside and, with only a years experience, she needed knowledge to grow and understand her role as a carer, but also needed the guidance and support from those who would be honest with her and from whom she would take advice. Liz has persevered and, even though at times she found the advice tricky, she has worked really hard to change her approach and was applauded by her matron Deborah who said: “Well done Liz for completing your level 2 and making the changes, you are growing and becoming a good carer.”
Liz has completed all the elements for her Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, passing her English and Maths Functional Skills in December.
She said: “I have really enjoyed doing the course and I can see a change in myself and hope that the people I work with can too.I hope to be able to continue with my training and develop and progress into my level 3 health and social care course at some point in 2018.”
After being recognised for her hard work Liz skipped down the corridor smiling like The Cheshire Cat….
Liz’s assessor, Jo, added: “Well done Liz, you have done well to change a lot in a short period of time, your spelling and written work has improved throughout the course and you have worked hard to improve your communication skills, these will only develop further through your role.”
